Taw - CAD Lesson

This week in CAD we looked at the artist Michelle Reader. She uses recycled materials and found objects to make sculptures. Her sculptures are figurative, so they look like real things, such as a jaguar. She sometimes uses mechanical elements, such as pieces of toys or clocks. In today’s lesson we use found materials such as cardboard, sponge and toilet rolls to design and make our own monsters.

We used feathers, bead, googley eyes and gems to make them unique. We used a new piece of equipment this week- the hot glue gun. Mrs Marquiss explained how we need to work safely and then let the students ‘have a go’ It was good fun, and as you can see, the monsters we are all very different.
