The Lampard Community School

Musician Visit

Kit Hawes and Aaron Catlow came to Lampard Community School to perform and make music with our Middle School students this week.

They not only performed beautifully but they introduced the songs to us and took us very far back in time (hundreds of years!) with them through their songs. Their songs were about many things including a very naughty fox!

Our students loved hearing them and having the chance to experience live music in school. After the performance, Aaron kindly let our students play his violin which was over 160 years old. Aaron said that our students were naturals at controlling the bow. Kit showed our students his guitar which was made from many different types of woods, there was spruce on top and mahogany on the bottom.

Thank you, Aaron and Kit, we hope you enjoyed yourselves here and we can’t wait to see you again when you are back from your tour!
