Lampard Community School is a school for students (boys and girls) with complex learning needs, aged 5 to 16. We work closely with parents/carers and other agencies to give every student high quality education and care. We have excellent accommodation which includes a food technology room, an ICT suite, science laboratory, a new sensory studio as well as sensory/OT room, art & technology workshop, extensive playgrounds and sports fields. We also now have a dedicated Forest School area.
Lampard has experienced and well qualified teaching and learning support staff who provide students with exciting and stimulating learning activities and opportunities. In the most recent Ofsted (July 2017), the school was judged to be Good with Outstanding features. The inspectors noted that our students “make good progress from their different starting points. As a result, outcomes continue to improve”. In 2017, all Year 11 leavers moved on successfully to further education. The behaviour of our students “is outstanding”. Our students are “polite towards each other and listen carefully to the views of others”. Students say it is a “happy place” for them to learn. They show positive attitudes to learning and enthusiasm for taking qualifications in Key Stage 4.
We are always looking for new opportunities for our children and each year we run a wide range of trips and clubs. The students participate in lots of community events (for example, choir performances, supporting local charities and homes for the elderly) and take part in sporting events. The school has gained the Sportsmark Award, Active Mark Award, Healthy School Award, Bronze Eco Status, the Gold Artsmark Award, and an Education Business Excellence Award.
We set ourselves high expectations and also expect our students to behave well and to try their best in lessons. Parents and carers are important partners in this and we look forward to working with you to help our students achieve success.
All admissions to Lampard Community School are managed by Devon County Council 0-25 SEN Team and all children have to have a statement or Education Health Care Plan. In the first instance parents/carers should discuss their child’s needs with their current school or telephone Devon County Council for guidance. We are happy to show parents/carers around the school, please telephone the school office for an appointment.
