Neal Layton Workshop

On Tuesday 8th November students from Lower School joined together to visit the Queen’s Theatre to take part in a workshop with the author and illustrator Neal Layton.

Neal spoke to our students and others from different North Devon Schools about collage and created some examples. Neal shared the book Stanley’s Stick, talking about Stanley’s imagination in the story, showing how he used collage in the book to describe an imaginary world. The students joined in and some even asked questions at the end! Everybody was excited to receive their book ‘The Tree’ and take it home to share with their family.

The photos are of a student from Umber class who found their own stick later in the day when out at Forest School.
