Year 11 Overseas Residential: Day 7 Update!✈️

What an adventure our Year 11 students have had today! 🎉 Check out today's write-up from our resident writer, Maddy.

Day 7, we went to the language school again this morning. It was our last visit today, we started with writing all the fruits and vegetables in Spanish before heading off to the fruit market. Did you know that manzana means apple, platano means banana and fresa means strawberries? There was also new fruits like dragon fruit to try. We used euros to buy some fruit from the market and tucked in back at the school.

As today was our last visit, we graduated from the language school! Yurena and Gabriel, our Spanish tutors, gave us all certificates and some sweets. We were sad to say goodbye to them, they have been amazing to learn Spanish with!

After school ended, we went to have a picnic lunch in the Cathedral square. Some of us went in the cathedral, the brave ones went up to the top of the tower! We then headed off to see Christopher Columbus’s house, it was really beautiful and old, full of interesting things. We then headed off to the banana plantation to see how bananas are grown here. We learnt a lot of interesting things, like bananas grow on plants not trees, they take nine months to produce fruit, and we saw red and blue bananas as well as yellow ones! Then we got to try some traditional Canarian jams and sauces.

Now we are back at the villa and enjoying the pool and chilling out. Tonight we are going to enjoy a BBQ. We are having such a fun time here!
