🐹 Maze Craze: Taw Class Takes on the Guinea Pig Challenge! 🏆

Science Week sparked creativity in our middle school as students took on a fun, hands-on design challenge. Taw class rose to the occasion with teamwork, innovation, and a love for learning.

During Science Week, our middle school students were set an exciting challenge by Mrs Feehan: to design a fantastic guinea pig maze that would give the animals some extra, engaging exercise. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving as students worked together to bring their ideas to life.

Taw class built a maze in sections using cardboard, carefully attaching each piece together to create one large, complete structure. When they first tested the maze with guinea pigs, the animals chose to hide underneath a sheltered part and didn’t explore much of the space.

Undeterred, Taw worked collaboratively to discuss ways to improve their design. They upgraded parts of the maze to make it more inviting, and Mrs Feehan brought along Frosty and Gerald to test the updated version. This time, Taw used food to encourage the guinea pigs to explore—and it worked! The guinea pigs moved through the maze and appeared to really enjoy the experience.
