Head Teacher's Welcome
Lampard Community School is a special school in Barnstaple, North Devon. We educate children aged 5-16 with complex learning difficulties, all of whom have speech, language, communication and interaction needs (SLCN) and are working significantly below age related expectations. We are part of The Special Partnership Trust. All of our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Our school aim is for our students to lead independent, fulfilling and happy lives and to gain as many of the skills needed to do that during their time with us.
'Pupils are happy at The Lampard Community School. There are good relationships between staff and pupils throughout the school. Pupils value the way staff support and care for them. Many parents comment positively on the school.
One said, “It has changed our lives.”' OFSTED, Jan 23.
We work collaboratively with parents, carers and a variety of different agencies to help us provide the most effective and appropriate provision for each child. At Lampard, children are cared for, valued, challenged and supported to achieve the very best they can.
In KS4 we offer Functional Skills and WJEC qualifications at Entry Level and when our year 11 students leave Lampard, we ensure they are well-prepared to take their next steps in post-16 education.
'Leaders want pupils to grow into successful adults and become independent learners.
They are ambitious for all.' OFSTED, Jan 23.
We are very proud of our school and hope that our website will provide you with a valuable insight into everyday life and also special events that highlight our work.
