The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme that celebrates schools for their commitment to developing competitive sport within their school and wider community. The award recognises the work schools do to encourage young people to be active, participate in sport and enjoy positive sporting experiences. 

Achieving the Silver Award is a fantastic recognition of the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment shown by our pupils and staff throughout the year.

The School Games Mark looks at a range of areas, including increasing engagement in physical activity, providing positive and appropriate opportunities for competition, developing young people through leadership opportunities and ensuring that pupils have equal opportunities to participate. It also recognises the importance of helping children and young people develop their confidence, motivation and physical literacy through positive experiences of sport and physical activity. 

At our school, we believe that physical activity and school sport are about much more than competition. They provide valuable opportunities for our pupils to develop confidence, teamwork, resilience, communication and leadership skills, while encouraging them to enjoy being active.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils for the enthusiasm they have shown when taking part in sporting activities and opportunities throughout the year. Whether participating, competing, supporting others or developing their leadership skills, every contribution has played a part in helping us achieve this award.

A huge thank you and well done also goes to our dedicated staff, who work hard to create meaningful and enjoyable opportunities for our young people to get involved in physical activity and sport.
